MERARAP HOTSPRING LAWAS


Day 01.

Merarap hotspring situated 69km from Lawas Town. Perfect places those seeking serenity wuth rainforest surrounding next Trusan River. Accessible by 4x4wd criss-cross into the highland interior of Sarawak. Vehicle 4x4wd journey will take 1.5hrs follow logging roads subject on weather condition, but if raining journey take bit longer as logging roads more slippery before reaching Merarap Hotspring Lodge.


upon arrival check-in Merarap Hotspring Lodge and lunch will be serve at Merarap Restaurant viewing river.

Afternoon:
  • Free at leisure
  • Dip & relax at the many hot spring pools open 24hr daily cater for guest use. (Hot sulphuric water are curative for rheumatism, influenza & skin diseases)


  • Dinner & overnight at Merarap Hotspring Lodge

  • Night walk to spot noctonal animal around hot spring area

Day 2.



  • Breakfast at Merarap Hotspring Restuarant.


  • Explore numerous hot spring source along bank of Trusan River.


  • Lunch at Merarap Hotspring Restaurant


  • After lunch, depart for the 3 hours guided trails crossing huge boulder & trek into the virgin rainforest that surrounded the Merarap Hotspring


  • Dinner & overnight at merarap hotspring lodge

Day 3.




  • Breakfast at Merarap Hotspring Restaurant


  • Last dip & relaxing at open hot spring pool.


  • Depart 4x4wd to Lawas Town.

  • Lunch at Lawas Town local restaurant.

MOUNT PAGON




Mount Pagon, Brunei's highest mountain height 1850m asl (6070 ft) located between boundary Brunei Temburong and Limbang, state of Sarawak. Mt Pagon only accessible by 4x4WD through Limbang logging roads drive cross-criss mountain range on sarawak highland.








Recently expedition of 5 hiker  from CARE collaboration with MESRA association do the first climb  Mt Pagon in 2D/1N. The first day expedition start with 2 vehicle 4x4WD begin from Limbang Town, state of sarawak drive through oilpalms  plantation along kubong roads. The Journey itself full of interest with beautiful scenery countryside over looking view from  mountain ridge. Expedition reach at Mt pagon basecamp  at 14.00hrs. unfortunately, the weather changing from sunny day change to thunderstorm. The mountain roads become slippery  interrupt our journey specially when driving the down hill.



For the first night 5 hikers setup camping gear  at Mt Pagon basecamp 1  then prepared food for dinner and early sleep for next day hike. Night time at campingsite temperature 15 degree celsius ensure bring warm clothes and sleeping bags.


Second day expedition at dawn wakeup gibbon call can hear as early 5.30 hrs in the morning, and all 5 climbers wakeup prepared heavy breakfast with hot cup 3+1 coffee. Trekking start as early 7.00 hrs through logging activities, after 1 hours trekking 5 climbers reach at Mt Pagon foothill. All 5 climber take a short break and resting then continue with first challenge by climb wallstone, and no choice 5 climber has to go thru by grip on tree root clinging hillslope.




After 3 hours climb on difficult track 5 climbers reach at abundant resam scrambling fern forming thick, pure thickers interrupt your climbing. No choice we make your trail by crawling under thick scrambling fern and left heavy bagpack behind, then continue climbing through mosses forest all the ways to Summit Mt.Pagon.








Finally, by 12.30hrs 5 climbers stepping their legs at Summit Mt.Pagon with spectacular view Mt. Murud (holly mountain) and Brunei's Pristine Tropical Rainforest. All climbers take this opportunity by taking as many photograph from high Mt.Pagon. After enjoy having box lunch and enough resting 5 climbers start descend at 13.00 hours back to basecamp 1 and reach there by 16.00 hours.








Our mains expedition consider successfull 5 climbers did their climb within 2D / 1N. Expedition return to Brunei by leaving Mt.Pagon basecamp 1 at 17.00 hours, and we arrive at Kuala Luarah immigration post at 21.00 hours. Expedition ends

BISAYAH HOMESTAY & BUFALO RACE


The exotic island of Borneo is rich with abundant tropical rainforest and home many indigenous tribes with diverse CULTURE and traditions.


Introduction.

In Sarawak, there is a group of people known as Bisayah. They live in separate houses along the banks of middle reaches of the limbang River in the fifth Division of sarawak, and in the neighbouring sultanate of Brunei. In ancient times Bisayah known as were" Tenggara".


History.

The Bisayahs are said to have originated from an ancestor named Orang Kaya Gunang, a Visaya ( as called in the Philipines ) who fled from the Philipines after he had a quarrel with his brothers and sisters over their deceased father's property. When he came to Limbang he married a tenggara woman and they had a number of children who called themselves Bisayahs after the race of the father


Festival.

Bisayahs community celebrates Babulang Fest very early june all years around this is the largest or grandest of the many rituals, ceremonies and festival of the traditional Bisayah (Borneo) of Limbang, Sarawak. It is joyful occasion, involving many people displaying colourful traditonal costumes, decorations and handicrafts. It is only durring 'Babulang Fest' that these Bisayahs dance, songs, handicrafts and hospitality to their guests are on display.
The highlights are the Miss Babulang competition and the Water Buffalo Race

MOUNT KINABALU: Summit of Borneo




Mount kinabalu, Sabah

the Kinabalu Park is famous the world over for the highest mount in South-East Asia-Mt.Kinabalu, a vast jagged granite massif rising to 4,101m, (13,455 feet). The mountain is the focal point of the whole park which covers an area of 754 sq km (291 sq miles), and includes vegetation types ranging from the rich Lowland Dipterocarp zone through the Montane Oak, rhododendron and conifer forests to the alpine Meadow plants and stunted bushes of the Summit zone an area that probably has one of the richest flora in the World.

Mount Kinabalu Headquaters

The headquaters is situated on the Southern boundary, at an elevation of 1,524m (5000 ft), visitor accommodation, restaurants and exhibit centre are found here as well as the park office. It is only a 2 hour drive from Sabah’s capital of Kota Kinabalu on a well sealed road and the Park is an ideal spot for day visitors who simply want to get away from it all and enjoy the cool air,as well as those who wish to stay for a few days and climb the Mountain or explore the forest trails.

Climb Mount Kinabalu-A truly Rewarding Experience

Many people who visit the park come to climb the mountain, a tough walk that take a minimum of two days. But why not take your time over it! The climb can be made far more rewarding and enjoyable of you use three days, with two night at a mountain hut. This way you can take the time to look at what you pass-the birds, the mammals and the rocks, the views and the almost incredibly rich diversity of plants life belonging to one of the most ancient vegetation in the World.


MT KINABALU PACKAGE ITINERARY
DAY 01 : HOTEL PICK-UP TO KINABALU PARK (LUNCH / DINNER)
Meeting & pick-up from City Hotel, transfer to Mount Kinabalu. Overnight at the Mount Kinabalu lodge.

DAY 02 : LABAN RATA GUESTHOUSE (BREAKFAST / BOX LUNCH / DINNER)
0700hrs Breakfast
0800hrs Transfer to Kinabalu Park, located at an altitude of above 5000 feet above sea level and the temperature is very cooling. Register with park Officer for climbing permit, mt guide, insurance and climbing identity pass. Collect box lunch at Balsam Café. Depart for Power Station (Timpohon Gate)

0900hrs Arrive at Power Station (Starting point of the summit trail). Trekking will start at an altitude of approximately 7000 feet at Timpohon Gate where you will be trekking for 6 kilometres to reach Laban Rata Guesthouse (11,000 feet sea level). On the way pass various vegetation zones with reach wealth pitcher plants, birds and other wildlife.
**Depending on the individual fitness of the climbers, trekking will take between 4-6 hours.

1500hrs ETA check-in at Laban rata Guesthouse / Gunting Lagadan (whichever available). Free at leisure

1900hrs Buffet dinner at Laban Rata Café and have an early sleep as next day adventure will start at wee hours in the morning.




DAY 03 : SUMMIT MOUNT KINABALU (BREAKFAST / LUNCH )
0130hrs wake-up.
0200hrs Have a cup of warm drinks before start of your adventure up to the highest peak.
0230hrs Commence summit trail with torch light which approximately 2.5 km.
**Depending on the individual fitness of the climbers, trekkers will be take between 3-4 hours.
0530hrs ETA at summit called Low’s Peak, named after first explorer who tried conquering the mountain in the 19th century . You are actually on top of the highest peak (approximately 13,432 feet above sea level) in South East Asia (from Papua New Guinea to Myanmar). Normally depending on weather condition, you will see magnificent sunrise when you reach the Peak.
**The temperature here is below 5 degrees Celsius.
0700hrs Descend to Laban Rata GuestHouse then continue to Timpohon Gate
1400hrs ETA at Timpohon Gate and transfer to Kinabalu Headquarter’s (lunch at Balsam café)
1530hrs Transfer to Kota Kinabalu (Hotel or Airport) Tour ends.

Land Transfer return trip, accommodation 1 night at kinabalu park lodge, accommodation 1 night at laban rata, mountain permit, mountain guide, insurance, lunch x 3, dinner x 2 , breakfast x 2 and entrance fees.

If you are climbing to the summit-a word of warning-Mountain should be treated with respect and climb mt kinabalu at your own risk, The weather can change very quickly from brilliant sunshine, to mist and clouds, to a torrential down-pour. The nights at Laban Rata GuestHouse and Gunting Lagadan are cold and temperatures can drop to below freezing. Ensure you bring enough warm clothes with you pack them in plastic bags to keep dry. Park regulations require that all climbers to the summit are accompanied by a registered guide.

Longboat ride into Brunei Pristine Tropical Rainforest

Introduction.

Temburong Districts is the gateway to Ulu Temburong National
Park. Forest cover is more than 469,000 hectares or 80.6 per cent of land area in the country. With quite an expanse of area, the parkland encompasses everything from mixed dipterocarp forest to montane forest on high ridges.
